Environmental protection & resilience
Advancing waste reduction, pollution prevention, climate resilience, land restoration, forest health, and responsible resource recovery.
Responsible innovation for environmental resilience
Advancing environmental and community resilience through pyrolysis, applied research, education, workforce development, and circular-economy solutions.
BioSolutions Institute develops and demonstrates responsible solutions that reduce waste, prevent pollution, recover resources, and create measurable environmental and community benefit.
Featured biomass program
Within our broader environmental mission, we work with public agencies, land stewards, farms, schools, and universities to turn forest biomass into public benefit through biochar, restoration, education, and green career pathways:
Partnerships
BioSolutions Institute works alongside communities, public agencies, land stewards, schools, universities, workforce organizations, researchers, responsible industry collaborators, and environmental partners.
Founder
Dr. Ayobami “Popo” Salami founded BioSolutions Institute to connect scientific research, responsible environmental innovation, and practical community benefit. His doctoral training at the University of Eastern Finland and scholarly work on pyrolysis, biomass valorization, biochar processes, and plant-based materials inform the Institute’s focus on applied research, education, workforce development, and waste-to-value solutions.
Our work
Advancing waste reduction, pollution prevention, climate resilience, land restoration, forest health, and responsible resource recovery.
Exploring scientifically supported uses of pyrolysis and other approaches to transform biomass and recoverable materials into beneficial resources.
Building education and research collaborations that create real pathways for students, faculty, and community partners.
Supporting training and employment pathways connected to responsible pyrolysis, resource recovery, green industry, and environmental technology.
Evaluating waste-to-value technologies, materials, and systems for measurable environmental and community benefit.
Five-year vision
Preparing workers for responsible pyrolysis, resource recovery, biochar operations, circular economy roles, forest management support, and environmental technology careers.
Showcasing biochar benefits for soil health, water retention, and carbon sequestration through local farm and community sites.
Helping schools, cities, and community groups understand carbon cycles, sequestration, climate solutions, and local action.
Supporting communities, students, researchers, and responsible businesses developing scientifically supported waste-to-value products and circular solutions.
Highlighting climate solutions, community innovators, land stewards, educators, and green workforce pathways.
Piloting biochar applications with farmers, landscapers, and municipalities for soil improvement and regenerative land management.
Advancing tree planting, wildfire mitigation, soil restoration, reforestation, and water-retention projects.
Offering TK-12 aligned environmental learning, field trips, leadership development, and exposure to green career pathways.
